The other night while I was making some spare change at the bus station one of my clients brought tromboning to my attention.

You're almost there, Janet. Your hoo-hoo goes in the middle of the feedback loop, or entirely outside of the loop if you're the one initiating the transaction, unless you are involved in what some of refer to as a "conference call".
